The 2018 Oxford Brookes midwifery students’ annual conference will explore the experiences of, and support available to, the team around the woman during pregnancy and childbirth. The conference will be opened by Professor Lesley Page CBE, followed by guest speakers (including myself, giving a talk on historical perspectives). The day is devoted to discussing:

  1. who makes up a birthing team, and how can they best be supported?
  2. first-hand experiences of women and their partners
  3. the impact of team members
  4. how to get support
